E07: Move Smart, Stay Safe: Workplace Injuries and Prevention for Early Childhood Educators & Rooted in Purpose: Reconnecting with Your Why as an Educator

Morning Session: Move Smart, Stay Safe: Workplace Injuries and Prevention for Early Childhood Educators with Dr. Julia McKenna & Dr. Kelsey Haslam Working with children is rewarding but can be tough on our body. This interactive presentation provides an evidence-based overview of common workplace injuries affecting early childhood educators and outlines effective prevention strategies. Participants will gain practical knowledge on safe work practices, ergonomic techniques for lifting and bending, and targeted exercises designed to reduce injury risk, promote musculoskeletal health, and support overall well-being in the workplace. Afternoon Session: Rooted in Purpose: Reconnecting with Your Why as an Educator with Nathalie Arsenault In the day-to-day demands of early childhood education, it’s easy to lose sight of the deep purpose that first inspired you to work with young children. This interactive session will help you reconnect with your ‘why’- the core reason you chose this profession- so you can leave feeling re-energized and motivated. Through reflective exercises, engaging discussions, and hands-on activities, you’ll gain clarity on what drives you, explore ways to sustain your passion, and connect with fellow educators who share your commitments to sharing young lives. Whether you’re seeking inspiration, validation, or a renewed sense of purpose, this session will prove a meaningful space to reignite your passion for the vital work you do.
