Over 50 Years of Championing Children and the Early Learning and Child Care workforce on PEI!

A provincial, non-profit organization committed to promoting and supporting quality Early Learning and Child Care programs and services for our Island’s children and families. The Early Childhood Development Association of PEI was formed in 1974.

We believe in creating a culture of deep respect, equity, and care for our valued members, staff, and community stakeholders—a commitment you can read all about in our Treatment of Members Policy.

We are also incredibly proud to connect our Island to the national stage as Affiliate Members of the Canadian Child Care Federation.

What we do:

  • provide information and guidance linking early childhood knowledge and information to those who need it;
  • resources and professional development opportunities for the Early Learning and Child Care workforce on PEI;
  • a unified voice championing healthy child development for PEI children aged 0 years to 8, their families and the workforce supporting them;

We work with:

  • Early childhood Professionals
  • Provincial and municipal governments, opposition parties
  • Families, parents, grandparents and guardians
  • Other Early Years professionals
  • Diverse community organizations

To empower Early Childhood Educators to deliver exceptional, high-quality early learning and child care programs. Together, we are helping Island families make the early years count.
