Acting Early Childhood Director

Abegweit First Nation Early Childhood Centre

We are looking for a certified Early Childhood Educator (ECE) who is responsible for ensuring the centre operates safely, legally, effectively, and in the best interest of the children, families, and staff, while maintaining a high- quality early learning environment. Primary Responsibilities: • Oversee day to day operations of the early learning centre. • Ensure the centre follows PEI Early Learning and Child Care regulations, standards and policies. • Guide curriculum programming reflects children’s interest development, culture, and needs. • Ensure staffing and ratios are maintained • Support professional development • Foster a positive, respectful, collaborative team environment • Oversee health, safety, supervision, santiation, and emergency prodcedures • Build positive relationship with community, families, and staff • Support cultrulary responsive progamming and meaningful connection with the community • Develop and maintain partnerships with community organizations and services.

Required Skills
Must have certification as an Early Childhood Educator Must have a clear Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Check Must have certification in First Aid/CPR Must be willing to obtain Food Safety and WHMIS training Strong interpersonal, communication (written and oral) and relationship building skills
