CHANCES is seeking a Nutrition Support to join our team! Following recommendations from Canada’s Food Guide and using the P.E.I. Department of Health and Social Services Menu Planner for Daycare Facilities, the Nutrition Support is responsible for: Preparing and serving morning and afternoon snacks and lunch for CHANCES centre programs; Preparing grocery lists while keeping budget, menu requirements and storage capacity in mind; Completing grocery shopping and/or ordering food and supplies as required; Ensuring food is prepared, stored and served safely; Accommodating food allergies and dietary restrictions as required; Setting up tables for meals and snacks and completing general clean-up afterward; Completing kitchen and centre cleaning duties, including dishes, floors, counters, cupboards, appliances, garbage, compost and recycling; Maintaining food inventory and monitoring appropriate food storage and expiry dates; Providing relief for Early Childhood Educators during breaks and additional support within the program when needed; Building positive and caring relationships with children and families; Supporting children with daily routines, including eating, dressing and bathroom habits; Using positive guidance and redirection when supporting children; and Contributing to a safe, welcoming and supportive environment for children and families.

Required Skills
Valid CRC/VSS, Certification in WHMIS, First Aid, CPR, and Food Service and Sanitation is required.

Required Experience
Previous experience in food preparation, food service or a childcare environment would be considered an asset.
