CHANCES Smart Start Ferry Road is seeking a permanent full time Pedagogical Support Staff member to support the delivery of high-quality, child-centered programming for children and their parents/caregivers. This role is essential to the daily operations of our Early Childhood and Early Learning programs, helping create safe, inclusive, and engaging environments where children and families can thrive. The Pedagogical Support Staff plays a key role in supporting educators and enhancing program quality by providing classroom coverage that allows Early Childhood Educators time to observe, document, plan for individual children\'s needs, and implement the PEI Early Learning Framework. This position also supports mentoring opportunities among educators and contributes to a collaborative learning culture within the program. Responsibilities include establishing and maintaining nurturing, play-based learning environments that promote children’s social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development. The successful candidate will support daily routines and activities, guide children using positive behaviour support strategies, encourage social interactions, and foster a safe, creative, and responsive learning environment where children can grow and learn through play. Building strong, respectful relationships with children and families is central to this role. The Pedagogical Support Staff communicates openly with parents/caregivers, supports family engagement, exchanges information that supports children’s development, and helps families feel welcomed, valued, and connected to CHANCES Family Centre programs. This position also contributes to a positive and collaborative team environment by supporting Early Childhood and Early Learning teams, participating in team meetings, maintaining flexibility to meet program needs, and assisting with program delivery, setup, cleanup, and classroom coverage when required.

Required Experience
Previous experience in an early learning or child care setting is considered an asset, but not required. We welcome candidates who are eager to learn and grow in this role.
