The CHANCES Summer Student supports the delivery of quality programs for children and their parents or caregivers participating in CHANCES Family Centre programs. This role is an important part of the day to day operations and works closely with the Early Learning team across both Early Childhood and School Age programs. This position requires travel between multiple locations within the assigned Federal riding. The Summer Student assists in creating a safe, welcoming, and child centered environment that supports children’s social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development. Responsibilities include supporting daily activities such as storytelling, art, and play based learning, while helping guide routines and building positive relationships with children and families. The role also involves communicating respectfully with parents and caregivers, encouraging their involvement, and helping new families feel comfortable and informed within the program. In addition, the Summer Student contributes to a collaborative team environment by supporting program planning, delivery, and clean up, participating in team meetings, and maintaining flexibility to meet program needs, including supporting staff ratios when required.

Required Experience
Previous experience in an early learning or child care setting is considered an asset, but not required. We welcome candidates who are eager to learn and grow in this role.
