Submission #2526

By jenn

As a dedicated early childhood educator working on Prince Edward Island, I write this heartfelt appeal to call for urgent support and raise public awareness against the recent cuts to Pedagogical Support funding. This vital support is never an extra expense, but the solid foundation of high-quality early childhood education that every child, educator, and childcare centre deeply relies on.
There is a timeless truth in early education: an educator’s teaching conditions are children’s learning conditions. For frontline early childhood educators like me, professional pedagogical support is our most reliable backup in daily work. It offers us targeted curriculum guidance, practical classroom management strategies, professional development opportunities, and effective solutions to meet diverse children’s developmental needs, including supporting kids with special learning and sensory needs. With steady pedagogical support, we can design child-centered play-based learning activities, respond sensitively to children’s emotions and behaviours, and deliver intentional, warm, and professional early education care.
