Submission #2471

I’m writing on behalf of the Pedagogical Support Funding cut. My two year old girl Sable Jane MacDonald is a student at the Eastern Kings Early Learning Academy in Souris, Prince Edward Island. She joined the infant program when she turned one and absolutely loves it. Shortly after participating in the class she gained a tremendous amount of knowledge when it came to counting, colours and her alphabet. The amount of time and care dedicated to her is a true sign that they use the support/funding to the utmost. I worry that when you take away something so positively used toward children that it will have an affect on the future of students and teachers. Without this you are putting unnecessary stress on teachers who truly want to make a difference in the lives of these little ones that love them so much. I truly believe that this funding is important in supporting how these children grow into smart, well educated youth. I hope the province will take this into account when making the final decisions on this issue that will have such a negative effect on our youth.
