Members please note: you must log in to register!   The Board of Directors of the Early Childhood Development Association of PEI would like to invite members to attend our Annual General Meeting on Thursday September 24th at 6:30PM via Zoom, for the following purposes:   To consider and approve the minutes of the previous Annual General Meeting of the Members held on September 25th, 2025. To receive the financial statements and Annual Report of the Association for the fiscal year ended March 31, 2026. To conduct any other such business as may properly be brought before the meeting. Voting is open to those who have a current Professional or Lifetime membership with the ECDA. Members must be in attendance to vote as there is no voting by proxy. The AGM is FREE to attend, however we ask that you register so we can ensure we are able to meet quorum! This meeting is open for everyone to attend!  The AGM allows our members a means to make changes to the way the ECDA does business. It is the opportunity to table a recommendation from the floor or to draw attention to an issue you wish to bring to the Board of Directors to consider. By having your voice heard, it is your time to really be involved in the operations and direction of your association. We have two options to choose from, be sure to connect with your centre leadership to ensure you are choosing the right fit for your team! A legislative change to the Occupational Health and Safety Act requires at least one employee in a Child Care Centre to be on-site at all times with Standard First Aid. The Early Learning and Child Care Act states that certification requirements for Early Childhood Educators (ECEs) mandate at least Emergency First Aid. Because every facility operates differently, the choice is up to each centre on what coverage looks like for their specific team and how to staff accordingly for full compliance. To help you build the right schedule for your facility, we are offering a flexible training with options tailored to your needs: Basic (Emergency) - 3 hours online - 3.5 hours in person (9:00am-12:30pm) Intermediate (Standard) - 4 hours online - 7 hours in person (9:00am-4:00pm)   Please note that both Basic (Emergency) and Intermediate (Standard) First Aid courses includes a required online module that must be completed prior to attending the in-person session.  By registering for this session, you are agreeing to complete this online material. We highly recommend starting the online portion as soon as you receive access to the material from Life Start Charlottetown. Registration Deadline: Registration and payment will close on Friday, September 18th at 4:00 PM to ensure all participants have adequate time to complete the online coursework. Important Attendance Policy: The online material must be fully completed by 9:00 AM on the day of the in-person session.  If your online portion is incomplete at this time, you will not be permitted to attend the session and will be asked to leave. No refunds will be issued for those dismissed due to incomplete online material.   All payments must be made in full no later than September 18th, 2026. Please be advised-- there is a minimum number of 10 people per option to have the training. Please include the full name for whom the payment is for and the type of first aid training you've registered for Basic or Intermediate :) No PD hours are associated with this training.     Bio:  Life Start is an approved training provider founded by Khryspn Jensen, with an ambition to challenge convention in the first aid training world.

Join us to discuss the science behind the benefits of risky play, how risky play impacts literacy and learning, and how access to active outdoor play is essential for healthy child development.    Facilitator Bio:  Bookmates Inc. is a non-profit organization focused on the development, training and delivery of family literacy and learning programs.   Participation: Participants will be given the link to the video and are required to participate in one of two ways-- with a microphone/built in speaker or through the chat. In addition there will be a log tracking which members contribute and which do not, and those that do not contribute will not receive PD hours. We ask that you leave your camera on for the session.
