Headstart is a non-profit child care centre first established in 1969. Early Childhood Educators are responsible for the well being, care and early education of children and a support to their families within the Parkdale-Sherwood Headstart Program. Early Childhood Educators are to perform appropriate activities and tasks in the following areas: program management, guidance and behavior management, health and safety, and professionalism. Role Highlights: • Support the well-being, care, and learning of young children • Plan and implement developmentally appropriate curriculum linked to the Early Learning Framework (ELF) • Build strong, trusting relationships with children, families, and team members • Maintain a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment • Observe, document, and support the growth of individual children • Work closely with a welcoming team of ECEs and specialists

Required Skills
Diploma in Early Childhood Care and Education or equivalent Early Childhood Certification issued by the Early Learning and Child Care Board in PEI Standard First Aid and CPR Certificate
