The Early Childhood Development Association of PEI advocates for and supports members in the sector to provide professional, quality early learning and child care services and programs as they work with families and caregivers to promote the development of healthy children, justifying an annual membership fee.

1.  Members have the tools and information to be high quality, professional members of the workforce throughout their careers.

  • 1.1  Members are continuously provided professional development opportunities to gain skills and knowledge of current best practice.
  • 1.2. Members are able to participate in peer networks, sharing knowledge in a supportive environment, and providing opportunities to engage members in improving ECDA services and programs.

2. There is an adequate number of skilled professionals to meet the needs of the sector.

  • 2.1. There are multiple education pathways to support the growth of the sector.
  • 2.2. Working conditions are continuously improved to enhance recruitment and retention in the sector.

3. The public is aware of the impact of positive learning experiences and licensed quality care in the early years.

  • 3.1. Families and caregivers have the tools and information they need to recognize quality early learning and child care.

4. Public policy is influenced by the collective voice of the membership.
