Colleges & Institutes Canada recently selected the Early Childhood Care and Education Blended Program as a Bronze recipient of the 2015-2016 CICAN Program Excellence Award.
The Colleges and Institutes Canada Awards Program recognizes and promotes excellence within Canadian colleges, institutes, cégeps, university colleges and polytechnics. The Awards showcase the extraordinary contribution of individuals to their college/institute communities and highlight the role of our institutions in social, cultural and economic development. There are three levels of recognition: Gold, Silver and Bronze.
The Program Excellence Award celebrates diversity and flexibility of programming in Canada’s colleges, institutes, polytechnics, university colleges and cégeps. Inherent to this flexibility is the involvement of business, industry, and the professions in the design of programs in their areas of expertise.
The Early Childhood Care and Education Blended Learning program was created to address a need when the province began the Preschool Excellence Initiative in 2010. A key component to the success of the first phase of the initiative was the development and delivery of the blended programs. This program permitted students to continue working while participating and resulting in a credential.
The success of the program is through the commitment of the ECCE staff and in collaboration with stakeholders. Congratulations to all of the partners and participants who contributed to this exemplary program!
The recognition was acknowledged and honoured at a pre-gala reception during the CICAN Conference in Quebec City.
