During the first hour of this meeting, we will hear a presentation on child protection from Jeannine Carver of Child and Family Services. In the presentation we will review mandatory child protection reporting, how to make a report and what happens after a report is made. Jeannine will go through Section 9 of the Child Protection Act, which states the reasons children would be in need of protection. This presentation will focus on everyday situations specific to Early Childhood Educators and School Age Educators.
This meeting will be held in Summerside at the Centre Belle Alliance for the convenience of Prince County supervisors, but we encourage supervisors from all across PEI to join us! No registration required.
The ECDA has been supporting Directors and Supervisors for nearly ten years through the Supervisors Network. The intention of the group is to encourage open dialogue and knowledge exchange to enhance quality practices, such as human resource practices and policies, pedogogy and leadership. The Supervisors Network is open to all supervisors, directors, and administrators of licensed early learning and child care programs. No previous attendance or membership necessary - come one, come all!
Check the ECDA's events page for the current schedule and location of meetings.
If you have any questions about the Supervisors Network please contact Sonya Hooper at 902-368-0070 or Bonnie Bell at 902-368-1866.
We hope to see you there!
